Procedure
The procedure for the placement of a CEREC restoration is very simple. The first step is to remove all decay and shape the tooth. A digital camera is used take a 3D image. Once this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This allows the doctor to design the restoration on the computer as you watch. Once the design is completed, the CEREC will mill the restoration out of solid porcelain in about 15 minutes. When the restoration is finished milling, we will glaze and finish the CEREC crown so that it looks beautiful. Then, the doctor will bond in the restoration. The entire process should take less than two hours, and your repaired tooth will look very natural.
